GPS Consoles Have Revolutionized Travel

If you've ever been lost while driving in your car, you know how frustrating it can be. Magellan Blazer12 GPS Receiver. We all know that men never ask for directions and it's really not safe for women, or anyone really, to stop and ask for directions if you're in an area you're not familiar with. That's why many people keep GPS navigation consoles in their cars. GPS stands for global positioning system.

It can pinpoint your location and then give you door to door instructions for anywhere you'd like to go. You simply punch in the address of your destination and the console will tell you each street, turn and even U-turn until you reach wherever you're going. The GPS has revolutionized how we travel and nobody who travels in their cars should be without one.

Cell Phones

Many cell phones are GPS enabled as well. That means you that you can use your cell phone to get where you're going in your car, or you can use it for walking to places that you're not sure of. Contact your cell phone provider to see if they offer GPS capabilities and if your phone is compatible with these capabilities. It would be very convenient if you didn’t have to buy a separate GPS system because your phone already came with one.

No More Maps

Anyone who has traveled knows how difficult it is to hold maps on your lap while driving; not to mention it's very unsafe. Also, your passengers likely don't want to hold the maps either. Maps are no longer necessary when you have a GPS in your car, however. No matter where you want to go, you simply type in the address and you'll be told where to go by a friendly voice. There's nothing else like it.

Opponents

There are still those who don't like GPS systems. They say that they're making us dumber. We no longer have to think about where we're going, or how to get to where we're going. We simply listen to the GPS and follow the instructions.

Still, as long as we can find our destinations easily, and without getting lost, then they can't be all bad. Most don't cost any more than two hundred dollars so if you've never tried one, you should get a GPS and see how these simple to use little devices have truly revolutionized travel. Just think: no more folding maps ever again. What could be better than that?
